Alayna Hansen is the new Ag in the Classroom coordinator for the Loess Hills Area Farm Bureau.

She currently resides in Templeton with her husband and four boys.

Growing up on a farm just north of Halbur, her experience and expertise in agriculture started at a young age.

“My summers were filled with 4-H, county and state fairs, walking beans, and helping out on the family farm,” Hansen said.

She graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School and then Buena Vista University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and human services. Over the last 10 years, she has been a coordinator for non-profits and most recently ran a successful in-home daycare program where she designed and implemented play-based learning curriculum.

In her free time, Hansen enjoys going on adventures with her boys, running, spending time with friends, and volunteering in her community.

“I am excited to get into the area classrooms and bring the excitement of agriculture to the kids,” Hansen said. “I have fun ideas and projects to share as I get started with Loess Hills Ag in the Classroom.”

Hansen invites teachers to reach out to her at ahansen@loesshillsaitc.org for more information to see how Loess Hills Ag in the Classroom can help them.
