Event celebrates local food and community

The Crawford County Women in Business Impact Organization (WIBIO), housed under the Chamber & Development Council of Crawford County (CDC), announced its first-ever Farm to Table Dinner, set to take place on Sunday, June 23, in Uptown Denison on Broadway, near The Bake Shop. 

The event will celebrate local produce, community spirit, and the ongoing revitalization efforts in Uptown Denison.

The evening will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., offering guests the opportunity to tour a stunning loft apartment in Uptown Denison. The tour pays homage to WIBIO's signature event, the Holiday Tour of Homes, which could not be conducted during the 2023 holiday season. 

The three-course meal will be served at 6 p.m. The first course will be a fresh, in-season salad, followed by a ribeye steak from Vintage Beef, grilled by the Crawford County Cattlemen and accompanied by sides. The meal will conclude with a dessert prepared by The Bake Shop. 

The Bake Shop’s bar will also be open.

Tickets are $75, which includes the meal and one drink ticket for The Bake Shop (valid only on the day of the event).

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Washington Park Project. The remaining portion will be used for WIBIO projects.

"We are incredibly excited to transform Uptown Denison into a lively dinner space," said Mariah Nutt, office manager of the CDC. "This Farm to Table Dinner is not only a celebration of local food and community but also a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the beautification and revitalization of our town. We hope to make this an annual event that brings people together and showcases the best of what Crawford County has to offer."
