Schleswig VFW Auxiliary to meet August 12

Schleswig VFW Auxiliary #3930 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, August 12, at the Schleswig Golf Course. Discussion will include the banner, the window, and the float. 

Dues are payable now. 

New members are always welcome.

Boy Scout paper drive on August 10

The Boy Scouts of Troop 55 in Denison will conduct their August paper drive this Saturday, August 10, at the Pronto parking lot. The Boy Scouts will be there from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help unload tied, bundled or sacked newspapers.

Acceptable papers can be brought in either paper bags or cardboard boxes but not in plastic bags.

People are asked to limit the amount of cardboard they bring.

Schleswig Library program to present history of town

“Schleswig – The Forgotten Years” will be presented by Larry Grill at the Schleswig Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15.

The program is about the early history of Schleswig and is a timely topic as Schleswig will celebrate its 125th anniversary September 13-15.
