Projects closer to completion at Denison High School

Workers from Beebe’s Hardwood Floors, of Waukee, put a coating on the gym floor at Denison High School on Tuesday. Some of the new bleachers were scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. While the bleachers are being put into place, the floor contractor will temporarily stop work, and painting of the walls will be completed. Substantial completion of the gym is expected in early September.

Badding Construction is wrapping up work on the three science labs – physics, chemistry and biology. The lab renovations offer more hands-on experience for students.

Frazier Contracting has completed the shell for the new concession stand near the football field and track.  School staff will do the finish work on the interior of the building, similar to the completion of the softball/baseball concession stand a few years ago. The concession building may be completed later on in the season, but Superintendent Mike Pardun said it may be more of a wintertime completion.
