The Chamber & Development Council (CDC) of Crawford County is using the windows on its building to promote Crawford County. Photos of scenes and events in the county were attached to the top windows at the CDC office by Celeste Gomez and Stephanie Patino, through the Monarch Academy at Denison High School.

The photos are printed on an 80/20 perforated vinyl that allows one-way vision. People can see out of the area where the photos are on the window. The photo helps block the sun and blocks visibility from the outside.

“Back in the winter we put up a ‘photos needed’ Facebook post and had a great response,” said Mariah Nutt, CDC office manager. “We said we would use the photos for marketing and promotions and the top photo selected received a $20 CDC gift card.”

Nutt said the inspiration to put the photos on the CDC building came from Taylor Borkowski and her use of photos on the windows of her business, The Cottage.

“She used the Monarch Academy, and we also contacted the Monarch Academy. They always make our vision come true,” said Nutt.

The photos for the windows were selected by Paul Plumb, CDC executive director. They are staple scenes from Crawford County that represent a variety of places, events and seasons. The photos may be switched out from time to time.

Nutt said if anyone has photos that they would like to share with the CDC to visually promote Crawford County, she can be contacted at her email, mnutt@cdcia.org.
