Both teams got into foul trouble in the first half, and the game became a free throw shooting contest for a while.

Fink said the Monarchs settled in defensively in the second half, and got consecutive stops, which led to transition points.

Luke Wiebers led the Monarchs and all scorers with 22 points. Jake Fink and Gage Head each added 11 points and Lance Arkfeld scored nine.

Other scorers were Blaine Grady (5), Kole Towne (4) and Easton Emery (3).

In J.V. action, the Monarchs fell to Creston 43-36. Camdyn Nemitz led the team in scoring with nine points.
