Uptown dining raises funds for park, WIBIO projects

Tables and chairs were set up on the sidewalk on the south side of Broadway in Uptown Denison Sunday evening for the first-ever Farm to Table Dinner, hosted by the Women in Business Impact Organization (WIBIO).

A three-course meal featured many locally sourced foods. The menu included a fresh salad, ribeye steaks from Vintage Beef (of Charter Oak), a roll, sweet corn, green beans and homemade desserts. The diners also received one drink ticket to the Bake Shop.

Four members of the Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association – Joel Kuhlmann, Pat Corey, Nick Riessen and Nick Anderson, braved the warm weather and the hot grill to cook the steaks.

Prior to the meal, participants were able to tour Brad Nelson’s uptown apartment.

WIBIO sold 45 tickets, a number that WIBIO members were pleased with for a first-time event.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Washington Park project, and the remaining portion will be used for WIBIO projects.
