D-S girls 3rd, boys 7th at Ace Nelson Relays

 
 

The Denison-Schleswig girls scored 109.5 points and ended in third place at the Ace Nelson Relays in Denison on Monday, April 15.

Cherokee won the meet with 141.5 points, followed by Tri-Center of Neola with 124 points. Rounding out the standings were Lawton-Bronson in fourth with 94, IKM-Manning with 64, MVAOCOU with 61, Boyer Valley with 55, Missouri Valley with 47 and Ar-We-Va with 6.

Boys Results

The Denison-Schleswig boys scored 52 points and ended in seventh place. Cherokee placed first with 143.50 points, Treynor was second with 128, Lawton-Bronson was third place 110 and IKM-Manning was fourth with 85. Rounding out the field were Tri-Center of Neola in fifth with 57.5 points, MVAOCOU with 54 points, Denison-Schleswig, Missouri Valley with 44, Boyer Valley with 23.5, OABCIG with 18.5 and Ar-We-Va with 18.

“We had a good number of personal records, highlighted by the sprint medley relay, Dominik Garcia in the shot put, Gabe Henningsen in the discus and the two 400-meter hurdlers, Brayden Adams and Francisco Escalante,” said Head Coach Willie Baughman. “We did get a little banged up, so we need to get healthy.”

Monarch girls fourth at Tri-Center track meet

 
 

The Denison-Schleswig girls scored 70 points to placed fourth at the Tri-Center Girls’ invitational track meet on Thursday, April 11.

Council Bluffs St. Albert was first with 107 points, followed by Tri-Center of Neola with 89.5 and Treynor with 77. Other teams at the meet were Boyer Valley (70 points), Carroll (53), AHSTW (50), Woodbine (50), Heartland Christian (9), West Harrison (7.5) and Missouri Valley (6).

Following are the placings for the Monarch girls

3000 meter run: Lola Mendlik, 1st place, 11:58.60

Shuttle hurdle relay: Kysa Neddermeyer, Kamden Bruhn, Rylan Ipsen and Avery Bock, 6th place, 1:22.55
