Dow House 150th ends with concert

Part 2 of the Dow House 150th anniversary celebration was a meal and a concert on Saturday night. The location was moved from the Dow House to the Dow City Community Building because of the weather. The Boyer River Band performed under the covering of the patio at the community building. Band members are Dave McKee, Taylor Borkowski, Tim Kropf, Tom Larson and Aaron Larson.

Addey Schneider, of Schleswig, puts a ticket in a jar for one of the baskets that were raffled. The winners were announced at the end of the celebration on Saturday. More than 40 baskets were in the raffle and the winners were posted on the Dow House Facebook page.

 

Debra Clausen and Kal Scheef, both from North Bend, Nebraska, took a stroll on the sidewalks of Dow City during a break in the Dow House concert on Saturday. Scheef was one of the buckskinners at the Dow House the week before and decided to come back this past Saturday with Clausen. They enjoy doing historic re-enactments so dressed on Saturday in clothing more fitting with the age of the Dow House.
