Pearl Stone Salon & Spa’s product supplier, Aveda, annually raises funds to benefit the environment during its Earth Month campaign. Pearl Stone Salon & Spa, which opened in March at 201 South 7th Street in Denison, decided to join in the fundraising by sponsoring a charity walk.

T-shirts for the walk were sold, but unfortunately the walk was cancelled because it was scheduled on April 28, the day several tornados rolled through the area.

Still, Pearl Stone Salon & Spa raised $450, which salon owner Ashley Beeck decided to donate to the nature center at Yellow Smoke Park.

“The nature center does a lot for the community. It’s a non-profit that teaches kids. The nature center’s work ties in with Earth Month,” said Beeck.

She plans to make the walk an annual event with a goal of raising more money than the year before.
