Incumbent supervisors win primary
/Rasmussen advances as sheriff candidate
Unofficial results of the June 4 primary election show that incumbent county supervisors, Ty Rosburg and Jean Heiden, won their bids in a four-way race for two spots on the Republican ballot for this November’s general election.
Others who ran for the two positions are James Steinkuehler, who will be retiring as county sheriff, and Paul Outhouse. Rosburg is from Charter Oak, Heiden from rural Denison, Steinkuehler from Dow City and Outhouse from Schleswig.
The Democratic Party did not have any county supervisor candidates on the primary election ballot.
In a race for the Republican nomination for sheriff, Roger Rasmussen was the winner. Rasmussen is the chief deputy for the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. His primary election opponent was Yovan Cardenas, a captain with the Denison Police Department.
The Democratic Party did not field a primary election candidate for sheriff.
