Children’s musical theatre scholarships awarded

The following scholarships were awarded at the conclusion of the Donna Reed Foundation Children’s Musical Theatre Workshop, which took place the week of June 17.

$100 winner: Aiden Sis for point ballet

$75 winners: Sophia Hughes for vocal solo; Sophia Rasmussen for acro routine

$50 winners: Eve Anthofer for vocal solo; Jaylinn Koch for vocal solo

$25 winners: Brinley Fink for artwork; Sean Hughes for variety act; Autumn Koch for vocal solo; Emmy Oxendale for acro routine; Brielle Phipps for tumbling; Harper Phipps for tap routine

Church establishes a devotional along Yellow Smoke trail

The discipleship committee at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison has established a Wheels to Heels Trail devotional. The purpose of the bilingual devotional is for people to enjoy the natural beauty of Yellow Smoke Park and reflect on related Bible passages. 

The devotional has 12 clearly marked stops with laminated posters along the trail that include a QR code to access the passages. 

Paper copies are also available at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 500 North 24th Street in Denison. 

VFW Auxiliary to meet July 8

Schleswig VFW Auxiliary #3930 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the Schleswig Golf Course. 

Items on the agenda are the float for the parade, the Hoffman window, and a discussion on the banner. 

Dues are payable at the meeting.
