One person dies in accident east of Denison

 
 

A 35-year-old Bayard man, Cory Robert Beer, was pronounced deceased at the scene following a two-vehicle accident that happened Tuesday at 9:51 p.m. east of Denison near the N Avenue intersection on Highway 30.

According to the Iowa State Patrol report, Brent Robert Dale Stephan, 23, of Yukon, Oklahoma, was driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix east on Highway 30 when the vehicle went out of control. It collided with a westbound 2016 Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Morgan Wade Andersen, 19, of Shelby. 

Beer was an occupant in Stephan’s vehicle.

 
 
 

Stephan and two passengers in his vehicle received serious injuries and were all life flighted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. The passengers life flighted are Heaven Marie Holloway, 23, of Lytton, and Stacy Marie Holloway, 44, also of Lytton. 

Andersen was transported by Denison EMS to Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident report said Stephan was the only one in his vehicle wearing a seat belt and that Andersen was also wearing a seat belt. 

The crash remains under investigation.
